The Regeneration Corps
Our mission is to support youth with the knowledge to mitigate and respond to climate change and its impacts, while building community resilience and strengthening local food systems. Guided by the Just Transition framework, we connect students to local climate solutions through experiential, hands-on learning.
Our model presents regenerative food systems as a key element of addressing climate change and socio-economic resilience. Our scholastic and organizational partners train participants in agricultural literacy, regenerative agriculture, food systems and community building through a broad spectrum of hands-on and place-based activities. Students can earn credit and satisfy proficiency based learning requirements and further academic studies while building life skills and contributing to a regenerative future across the region. We are dedicated to working with schools, teachers and students to ensure the program is accessible to all by helping to overcome obstacles to participation on a case-by-case basis.
Earn Credits while working on Local Climate Solutions
Through the Flexible Pathways program, VT Act 177, students can earn credits while learning about conservation practices, regenerative farming, flood mitigation, food systems, agroforestry, permaculture and more. We work with you to create project based hands- on learning goals, then build a program in collaboration with the Flexible Pathways process to create benchmarks for comprehension and achievement.
Our Focus: We foster connections between students, farmers, and community organizations to offer valuable skill base learning opportunities.
Program Topics:
Local Climate Solutions
Soil Health /Compost
Water and Riparian Watershed Health
A Just Transition
Food Systems
Regenerative Agriculture
Agroforestry
Permaculture
Food Forests
Our Process:
We meet together to create a focus and framework for the curriculum.
We set goals, timelines, parameters, and create an Action or Capstone project.
We propose the curriculum to the Flexible Pathways Coordinator at your school.
Set dates, program expectations, and hours pending credit approval.
Check in about bench marks and evidence of comprehension during semester.
Present to relevant teachers, administrators, and community members.
“Before working with the ReGeneration Corps, I knew climate change was a problem, but I didn’t know what we could do about it. Now I know that, there’s lots we can do and I don’t feel so anxious about the future.”
